CHIESA DI SANTA MARIA (CASALINO)
La comunità di Casalino è nota sin dal XI secolo. In questo periodo faceva parte della comunità di Moggiona sotto la giurisdizione dell’Episcopio Aretino. Nel 1137, con una donazione, subentrarono i Monaci Camaldolesi, che eressero anche un piccolo oratorio in seguito trasformato in chiesa. La costruzione attuale risale al XVII secolo e conserva al suo interno alcune opere d’arte tra cui un ciborio cinquecentesco di scuola Robbiana. Nei pressi della chiesa venne fondato nel 1888 un istituto religioso sotto il titolo di Suore Terziarie Francescane di Santa Elisabetta d’Ungheria. I resti della fondatrice, Suor Francesca Casci, operante di assistenza in ospedali, case di cura e orfanotrofi, furono traslati nel 1848 nella cappella dell’Istituto. (per visite 0575/558091)
