un tempo unica strada di collegamento verso nord fu completamente distrutta l'8 settembre 1944 ad opera dei tedeschi per rallentare l'avanzata degli alleati.
Ricostruita nel dopoguerra con una struttura a portici simile alla vicina piazza, ospita oggi numerose botteghe.
La porta che si apriva verso Stia fu distrutta nel 1890 per consentire il transito di mezzi piu' ingombranti.
